I really hope Coil will make it big. The hype about theme is out there, I've seen hundreds of articles about them today just here on wordpress.com and also wrote one myself. Having an idea in my mind that there is someone who could actually stand a fighting chance against the big G makes me feel happy :)

So, I went to Fartbucks one night in Hoboken, and ordered the Crappaccino... Actually, I was rather polluted, and demanded a SANKACCINO... the rather perplexed 19 year old behind the counter showed concern... I was rather belligerent, cuz that's just how I roll when I'm half a fifth deep in a bottle of rotgut... anyhooo, the demand continued, until a manager showed his ugly face and told me they didn't serve said "SANKACCINO"... To this I says, I says "That's complete BULLSHIT!! Cuz I just got one here the other day... and it was DELICIOUS!!" Now get me the manager... YOUR manager.... I think I ended up with a Faggaccino and some Madelines, those always make my day...

Great post - very insightful! It is true - companies (and some people), as much as they are 'pro-web2.0' - when it comes time to put your money where your mouth is - back off. There still is the control 'thang. Then there is fear of openness (and possibly litigation). But then, on the other hand, the companies that embrace it and run with it - like the FaceBooks and Diggs of the world - look at them go!
